Slip into Slippers 2021

It's back for it's third year! Please join us in wearing your slippers and show your support by making a donation. All money raised by this campaign will remain within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and be used directly to support us in helping local older people.
Health and social care services are stretched to the limit and thousands of older people and their carers rely on us to provide them with support and services.
Many of our services are contracted by local authority, NHS, or local agreements but where there is a shortfall, or so we can provide extra, we use donations. Here are just two examples of how we use donations and why your support for our fundraising activities is vital:
- In the 8 months from Now 2020 to June 2021 our Hospital Discharge and Admission Avoidance Service responded to the NHS call for emergency capacity and we supported 275 local older patients at home, giving 1558 hours of direct support, 394 home visits, 3411 phone calls and 255 people helped to obtained longer term support. This funding has ended, and we are currently funding continuation of this support from our donated funds.
- A local donation enabled us to develop a Telephone Befriending Service but now we must raise funds to continue with this most needed and valuable service. Isolation and loneliness can be crippling and has a significant impact upon health and well-being. We are currently supporting 131 older people each week to receive a friendship call from a volunteer. Recruiting volunteers, co-ordinating and supporting the relationships needs funding and we have a growing waiting list for the service. Your donations enable us to continue this service.
