Our Independence Video

Published on 13 February 2023 01:54 PM

Did you know we are a different and separate charity from the national charity, known as Age UK? We share the overall brand but we are independent. This means we have our own Board of Trustees and deliver services to older people living in our area, that of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. To deliver these local services we must raise all of our own funds.

We created the above short (1min) video to explain our independence as many people do not realise their local Age UK Brand Partner does not directly benefit when they donate to the national charity, Age UK.

In 2021/22, 0.4% of our funding came from the national charity, Age UK. We rely on local partnerships for our funding, welcoming corporate supporters. This local funding enables us to give support to approx. 2,000 older people every week!

If you want to give a donation, fundraise or provide other support to the local brand partner, look for the geographical location in the Age UK brand logo - this indicates the charity is independent and delivering local services.

There are many ways you can donate to us, Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Please see our Get Involved page to see how you can support us.
