The first prize was awarded in the ‘Excellence in Digital Inclusion’ category for the partnership project Anglesey Virtual Hubs.

Anglesey Virtual Hubs is a partnership project aimed at developing the digital skills and confidence of older people living on Anglesey. Over the past few months many of Anglesey’s older residents have participated in the project which gives them the opportunity to attend weekly classes and loan a Samsung Galaxy tablet am 4G data for free to support them with their learning.

Participants have achieved many things during their time on the project, including learning how to do a food shop online, make connections with relatives living far away over social media, and even making new friends within the course too.

Many thanks to all the instructors. We have enjoyed every moment.” Feedback from two participants.

The Anglesey Virtual Hubs project continues to develop, with new classes starting in Llanfairpwll and Beaumaris from September onwards.
