Age UK Norfolk is proud to be part of the Community Voices: Women’s Health partnership, which has been shortlisted for the Partnership with People and Communities Award at the Norfolk and Suffolk Health and Care Awards 2026.

The Community Voices: Women’s Health programme brought together organisations from across the voluntary, community and health sectors to ensure that women’s experiences and perspectives are at the heart of healthcare service development. By working closely with women across Norfolk and Waveney, the partnership has helped ensure that local healthcare services are shaped by the people who use them.

As part of the project, partners worked collaboratively to co-produce resources, training and service improvements designed to strengthen women’s health support and improve patient experiences. The programme has demonstrated the value of listening to communities, using lived experience to inform decision-making, and creating meaningful change within health and care services.

The nomination recognises the collective efforts of organisations and individuals involved in the partnership and highlights the importance of collaboration between communities and healthcare providers in improving outcomes for local people.

Ann Donkin, Chief Executive Officer of Age UK Norfolk, said:

"We are delighted that the Community Voices: Women's Health project has been shortlisted for a Norfolk and Suffolk Health and Care Award. This recognition highlights the value of working alongside communities to better understand people's experiences and use those insights to improve health and care services.

At Age UK Norfolk, we see every day how important it is to listen to people and ensure their voices help shape the support they receive. This project brought together partners from across the voluntary, community and health sectors, combining professional expertise with lived experience to create something that has the potential to make a lasting difference to women's healthcare across Norfolk and Waveney.

Being shortlisted is a wonderful acknowledgement of the commitment and hard work of everyone involved. We are proud to have played a part in the project and look forward to joining our partners at the awards ceremony."

Age UK Norfolk is incredibly proud to have contributed to this partnership and to support work that helps ensure women's voices are heard, valued and reflected in the healthcare they receive. We congratulate all of our partners on this achievement and look forward to celebrating together at the Norfolk and Suffolk Health and Care Awards 2026.
