Age UK Norfolk and Aviva: Another Morning of Connection and Conversation

Another wonderful Bringing People Together event brought Age UK Norfolk service users, volunteers and Aviva colleagues together for a morning of conversation, music, refreshments and companionship. Hosted by Aviva, the event gave around 40 people the opportunity to spend time together, catch up with familiar faces and enjoy the company of others in a warm and welcoming setting. Aviva employees volunteered their time throughout the morning, helping guests feel comfortable and included.

For many of the people attending, these events have become something to look forward to. One attendee commented, “It was good to see you again… Congratulations to all concerned and very much looking forward to seeing you in a few months’ time.”

The morning included enjoyable performances from the Aviva choir, as well as refreshments and treats to take home. For those who need support getting out and about, transport arranged for the event also helped make it possible to attend. One attendee particularly appreciated being able to reconnect with a familiar volunteer: “Thank you so much for inviting me to this lovely event. And for organising the transport. I loved meeting up with Hazel once again. I was so well looked after.”

These events demonstrate the value of creating opportunities for people to come together, build and maintain relationships, and enjoy shared experiences. For some attendees, they provide a welcome opportunity for social connection that can be difficult to find elsewhere.

We are hugely grateful to Aviva and its employees for continuing to give their time and support to these events. Their involvement helps create opportunities for meaningful connection and ensures Age UK Norfolk service users can continue to enjoy these special occasions together.
