The Big Knit Returns
Published on 28 October 2020 01:14 PM
After what feels like a long hiatus, The Big Knit is returning! COVID-19 slowed down the return somewhat and while we don’t have all the specifics from Age UK National & Innocent Drinks just yet (including our final deadline) we do know our target for this round of the Big Knit.
New to the Big Knit?
The Big Knit is a campaign that Age UK National (our brand partner) runs in partnership with innocent drinks where we ask you to knit little woolly hats which then go on to their smoothies. For every smoothie sold, Age UK receives 25p.
The Big Knit 2020/2021
So for this next Big Knit Campaign, we’re looking to collect 8,500 hats over the coming year. Each mini hat carries a 25p donation, which means if we hit our target we’ll be raising over £2,000 for Age UK Norfolk! If you’d like to get involved with the Big Knit again, we’d be delighted to receive your knitted creations.
How to get involved
We’d love you to knit lots of lovely little hats for this year’s Big Knit and whether you’re a knitting novice or a purling pro, it couldn’t be easier.
Download the knitting patterns below, make yourself a nice cup of tea, find a comfy chair and knit away!
Hand in your hats
Once your little knitted creations are ready, drop them off or post them to:
- Age UK Norfolk, Henderson Business Centre, 51 Ivy Road, Norwich, NR5 8BF
- Age UK Norfolk , The Elms Business Space, 7 The Elms, St Faith's Road, Old Catton, Norwich, NR6 7BP
- Dereham Furniture and More Store - 31 Yaxham Road, Dereham, Norfolk, NR19 1HR (opposite Roys)
- King’s Lynn Furniture and More Store - Unit 9 and 11, Paxman Road, Hardwick Industrial Estate, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, PE30
How does the Big Knit help?
The money we raise from the Big Knit helps us be there for older people who have no one else to turn to – so those little hats really do make a big difference! This year if we reach our target we’ll be raising over £2,000 to support our work with older people, helping to make Norfolk a great place to grow older.
