Residents' handmade cards were sold to raise funds

Ashurst Mews got arty on National Care Home Open Day

National Care Home Open Day encourages care homes in the UK to open their doors to celebrate the key values of friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people.  Now in its seventh year, this year’s theme was celebrating the role of Arts in Care.  Age UK Northamptonshire says thank you to Ashurst Mews Care Home in Moulton whose residents, staff and volunteers had put together a small exhibition of original craftwork, paintings and homemade cards on Friday 28th June.  Sales of items in the exhibition and also of specially decorated cupcakes helped raise a magnificent £300 for Age UK Northamptonshire.

Beautiful handmade items were on sale

We say a huge thank you to Activities Co-ordinators Ana Maria Itts and Hayley Brice for their hard work in organising such an enjoyable day for their residents and guests, and thank you also to Manager Rex Pujol for his support.

Guests and staff enjoyed a chat in the beautiful garden

The warm, sunny weather meant that residents and guests were able to enjoy the care home's delightful garden.  As an independent charity we are grateful to local businesses for their support.  Please get in touch on 01604 611200 if you'd like to organise a fundraising event for Age UK Northamptonshire.  We'd love to hear from you.
