A service for older people registered with GP surgeries in Wellingborough, Kettering and East Northants.
We provide support to help people stay independent and safe at home for longer.
What does the service offer?
An Age UK Northamptonshire member of staff can visit you at home to find out how we can help. It is a chance to talk through any worries you may have and explain the different services available in your area, such as shopping, medication to be delivered, transport to medical appointments.
We try to help you sort out matters which are causing you worry and can give advice or find out information for you.
We can fill in benefit forms, open letters for you or make telephone calls on your behalf if you wish.
If you, or someone you know, could benefit from a bit of company or the chance to have a chat on a regular basis we can help you find a befriending service.
Who is it for?
For older people registered with GP surgeries in Wellingborough, Kettering and East Northants.
How much does it cost?
This is a free service, although we may refer you to other services for which there is a charge.

A client's story
The Collaborative Care Team is working hard to support older people during this difficult time.
Our Support Worker was able to help a client who recently had his mobile phone stolen. She put out a plea on Facebook asking if anyone had an old mobile phone that they no longer used. Within an hour, the Support Worker had been contacted by a Facebook friend who had kindly purchased a brand new, basic phone and top-up credit for the client, and had donated it to us in support. Our Support Worker’s friend said “What a fantastic job Age UK Northamptonshire are doing for the older and vulnerable people in Northamptonshire. I just wanted to help".
Our thanks to all involved.
