Affordable food in Norwich

Social supermarkets offer affordable, low-cost food and sometimes toiletries. There are now three in Norwich and ten in Norfolk, with more expected by the end of the year.

The details of the Norwich social supermarkets are as follows:

SOUL Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation who believe that every person matters, and they give a helping hand to others. Their social supermarket is a purpose-built facility at SOUL Church, Norwich. It is a membership-based community shop for those who need a little extra help, hosting a fresh range of produce, long-life essentials and household products at a fraction of the cost for their members.

ENYP is a charity which provides a wide range of youth work, children’s activities and community initiatives and projects. Their social supermarket at Russell Street Community Centre provides a wide range of food products, including fresh and frozen produce, as well as household essentials, all at highly discounted prices.

The Feed is a social enterprise with a mission to prevent poverty, hunger and homelessness in Norwich. Membership is free and allows access to the shop, which offers groceries at 50% of regular supermarket prices. It also includes access to their Community Fridge which offers free fruit and vegetables, and Hygiene Bank offering free period products and toiletries.
