Cuppa Care - Clubs & Trips Event

Published on 19 July 2023 10:33 AM

On Thursday 13th July, two of our Community Outreach Officers Joe and Ellie were at The Forum hosting a Cuppa Care event alongside our Information and Advice Team. Throughout the day, they spoke to members of the public about the services offered at Age UK Norwich as well as getting people involved in a competition and an arts and crafts session.

Joe organised a competition which involved a “Keepy up challenge” set by Jeremy Goss. The public had 3 chances to beat 94 keepy ups. Anyone who beat him was then entered into a raffle to win a £20 Amazon Gift Card. We had quite a few competitors and only one person was able to beat him with a score of 125 Keepy ups! Everyone who got involved also got a small packet of sweets.

Ellie thought it would be nice to do a card making session. In the cards, a small message of positivity was written which would hopefully put a smile on the client's face. All the cards that were made on the day were then sent to some of our loneliest and most isolated clients. When making the cards, it was a good chance to talk to the public and engage how they were feeling, and we even managed to recruit a few new members to groups we offer.

A great day all round and thank you to all who popped along to say hello.
