Love Volunteering Event

Published on 13 February 2024 12:38 PM

With Valentines Day just around the corner, we wanted to show our appreciation for our Volunteers by hosting an afternoon tea at The Georgian Townhouse. On Saturday, we were delighted to welcome 20 volunteers who support our charity in numerous ways through clubs, befriending and administration.

It was lovely to see volunteers chatting and smiling away, who all share the same passion for supporting those in their local community. We were grateful to share the next phase of our Frendlee App Project, to essentially gather communities.  In this instance, offering the opportunity for volunteers to connect with one another, access information and share feedback via the Age UK Norwich Volunteer Hub.

One volunteer commented; “I just wanted to say a very big thank you for arranging the Georgian Townhouse event yesterday - it's a lovely venue, the food was delicious and, best of all, it was a great chance to meet and get to know some other volunteers. I think the donor of the funds who made it possible would be very pleased with how their wishes were fulfilled!”

We would like to extend our thanks to the team at The Georgian Townhouse for their hospitality. A further, heartfelt thanks for a legacy donation we received, specifically to host an event to show gratitude to volunteers, which made this possible.

We’re always looking to extend our volunteering family, therefore if you, or someone you know would like to volunteer, please reach out on 01603 496333, email volunteering@ageuknorwich.org.uk or visit our website https://www.ageuk.org.uk/norwich/get-involved/volunteer/
