We’re an East of England Co-op Pioneer Awards winner!

We wanted to say a big thank you to the East of England Co-op who nominated us as one of four charities to receive a share of £16,000 raised at the annual Co-operative Pioneer Awards.

Jo Willingham, our information, advice and welfare manager was presented with the monies by Niall O'Keefe the Co-op's joint chief executive officer, membership and marketing.

Working with businesses

Dan Skipper, Age UK Norwich CEO, said support like this really can help us make a difference.

“At Age UK Norwich, we are dedicated to making this city a great place to grow old. The work we do ranges from friendly advice to welcoming clubs and groups, and from support at home to giving carers time to look after themselves.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to the East of England Co-op for their support – and if there are other businesses who want to find out how they can help support older people then we would love to hear from you!”

Making the most of later life

Niall said: “The East of England Co-op were proud to nominate Age UK Norwich who have been working in the local community to help older people for more than 70 years. They offer a wide range of services supporting resilience and independence in later life and successfully lead the dementia-friendly Norwich campaign. Promoting opportunities to get the most out of later life, whatever the circumstances is a vison shared by The Co-op who are embarking on a new campaign supporting the challenges of an ageing population”.

Thank you Niall, and thank you Co-op!
