Sharing Success: Short Term Care Centre

BBC Spotlight's Ben Woolvin visited The William and Patricia Venton Centre, Age UK Plymouth to hear some first hand success stories from the guests at the Short Term Care Centre (STCC).
After opening just two months ago, the STCC is already making an incredible difference to individual patients and is an outstanding example of NHS Devon's Integrated Care System. The centre has been refurbished by Plymouth City Council and Age UK Plymouth and is being run by the charity and Livewell Southwest.

As well has housing the STCC at it's head office, Age UK Plymouth are also providing a wraparound discharge service designed to support guests as they return to independent living. Guests have the opportunity to continue returning to the Day Centre at Age UK Plymouth and utilise some of the community support services available from the charity including Help at Home and the Information and Advice Service.
