About the Role
Age UK Plymouth’s Information and Advice Community Caseworkers play an important role in helping people aged 50+ across the city access the information, advice and support they need to remain independent, informed and connected within their communities.
Our Information & Advice service provides free, confidential and independent advice on a wide range of issues including welfare benefits, housing, access to care and support services, health and wellbeing, community safety and other matters affecting later life. Through our community outreach approach, we aim to reach people who may face barriers to accessing services due to deprivation, social isolation, poor transport links, health inequalities or digital exclusion.
You will deliver face-to-face information, advice and casework support within community settings across Plymouth, working with individuals to understand their needs, maximise their income, access appropriate support and improve their wellbeing and quality of life.
You will be part of a dedicated Information & Advice team, working closely with colleagues, community organisations and partner agencies to ensure people receive the right information and support at the right time. You will also support and work alongside Information & Advice Community Volunteers in delivering this service.
A post of this nature will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service. Further details can be found at www.gov.uk.
