Volunteer at one of our charity furniture shops in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin and help raise funds to support local older people.
What do our retail volunteers do?
Our charity shops in Oswestry and Wellington provide good quality furniture at a reasonable price and they offer a free collection service for donations of unwanted furniture.
We have a variety of roles available:
Pick up and deliver furniture in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.
Help the van driver with the collection and delivery of furniture.
Assist the public with sales and enquiries, help with sorting stock and creating interesting window displays.
What you will get out of it
- It's a great way to make a real difference to someone's life
- You'll be giving something to your community
- You get to be part of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin's volunteer team
- Volunteers tell us they find volunteering really rewarding
What is expected of me?
Van drivers and their assistants are expected to make a long term commitment of at least one day per week. Retail assistants are expected to commit to at least one full or half day shift per week, over a long period of time. Volunteers will also need to attend a short training session and provide references. These roles will not require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
