About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated coordinator to join our community-focused team as the Community Centre Coordinator at our Kings Weald Community Centre. Your role will involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring it remains a thriving hub for our community. Working alongside the Premises Manager and Centre Coordinator(s), you'll play a pivotal role in upholding our commitment to serving the local community while adhering to the values of Age UK West Sussex Brighton & Hove (AUKWSBH).

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee safe daily operations.
  • Manage inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist the Premises Manager and supervise contractors.
  • Update and enforce policies for centre usage.
  • Efficiently manage storage and equipment.
  • Administer bookings and facilitate communication.
  • Act as a responsible key holder.

People Management:

  • Support and engage volunteers in delivering high-quality service.
  • Foster effective relationships with staff, contractors, volunteers, and hirers.
  • Collaborate with local partners to align centre activities with community needs.
  • Gather community feedback to shape offerings.
  • Coordinate with the AUKWSBH Communications Team to promote the centre and manage its social media presence.

Centre Programme:

  • Monitor activity attendance, quality, and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Market local services and events, including conferences and social gatherings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in community centre management or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.
