About The Role:

Do you have a passion for helping others and making a real impact on people's lives? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Dementia Service Coordinator to join our Thursday Crawley team and lead our community service. If you're excited about creating a safe and enjoyable environment for our members and their carers, we would love to hear from you.

As a Service Leader, your primary responsibility will be to lead the delivery of our Crawley Thursday Service. You will create a safe and enjoyable space for our members and their carers, enabling them to engage in meaningful activities. Your role also involves supporting carers in their vital role by providing signposting to local support services and maintaining accurate data for reporting purposes.

The role requires attendance at our Maidenbower social group, covering the core hours of 9.30 - 14.30, but are able to offer some flexibility as to how the additional hours are worked.

To Do Well in this Role:

  • Health and Safety: Lead Dementia sessions, ensuring that health and safety principles are implemented and maintained at all times.
  • Member Engagement: Actively engage with members, encourage their participation in activities, and listen to and record their feedback.
  • Supporting Carers: Assist informal carers in maintaining their well-being and provide pathways to other local support services.
  • Activity Program Development: Contribute to the development of the activity program, aligning it with usage and trends.
  • Quality Monitoring: Monitor the quality of activities, accurately record statistics, and report to the Head of Dementia & Extra Care.
  • Staff Absence Coverage: Ensure appropriate cover is arranged for services during staff absences.
  • Activity Leadership: Act as the activity lead for some activities and enable support staff to also lead activities.
  • Supervision: Supervise team members and volunteers, conducting regular formal supervisions with your staff team.
  • Membership Development: Assist in developing membership for the service to achieve income targets.
  • Fundraising: Assist in organising fundraising activities to achieve targeted income and actively participate in events.
  • Promotion: Promote the service effectively and creatively in the local communities with guidance from the Head of Dementia & Extra Care.
  • Partnerships: Work in partnership with other voluntary sector and older people's organisations when appropriate, attending meetings, networking, and sharing ideas and resources.
  • Health and Safety Management: Assist the Head of Dementia & Extra Care with the management of health and safety for the service.
  • Cover for Absences: There maybe opportunities to work additional hours to temporarily take over the responsibilities of the Head of Dementia & Extra Care and other team members when they are not available.
