Good Neighbours Scheme Volunteer
Our Good Neighbours Scheme Volunteers offer older people companionship face-to-face.
We are not currently recruiting for volunteers in this role.
What does the role involve?
The service supports older people aged 65+ who have been identified as isolated. Volunteers are matched with an older person living in NW3 or Primrose Hill who would like a befriender to provide social contact and company by visiting them in their home weekly.
What you will get out of it?
- You'll be making a difference to the lives of older people.
- You'll gain an insight into issues that impact on older people’s lives.
- You'll both learn, benefiting from the knowledge and experiences older people share.
What is expected of me?
- Commit to visiting the older person at an agreed day and time each week, for 1 hour. Volunteers usually visit during the daytime, Monday to Friday, though weekends are sometimes an option.
- You'll need to complete the induction and training required for the role.
