Exercise - keep moving

Whether you're retired, working, or somewhere in between our exercise activities are developed especially anyone aged 50+ and offer inspiration and support to help you thrive in your 50’s and beyond!
Age UK County Durham have interactive workshops available to share positive ways to support your mental and physical health. The Your Body, Your Chapter Physio Fundamentals – are interactive workshops available to adults aged 50+ living in County Durham.
The workshops have been developed to share simple and easy ways you can included in your day to day routines to help maintain and develop a healthier lifestyle. Improving and prolonging a healthier outlook can reduce the demands on primary and secondary care services. The workshops include
- Simple, effective strategies for creating healthy habits that last
- Tools for setting and achieving personal goals—big or small
- An optional gentle exercise class to support physical health and vitality
They also provide information and advice for both mental and physical health and are interactive with group activities, quizzes and the chance to try equipment a variety of equipment items (light weights, resistance bands, balance equipment) that can help boost your confidence and encourage you to join community exercise groups.

As well as our Physio Fundamental sessions, we also have regular exercise activities throughout the County

- New Age Kurling - indoor kurling without the ice!
- Gentle seated exercise - sit down and get fit to music
- Circuits - move around to music to exercise different parts of your body
- A Chance to Dance
- Boogie afternoons
