Friendship Helped Barry’s Owl Dream Take Flight

Barry’s story is a lovely example of what Age UK Isle of Wight’s Gift of Friendship is all about.

After becoming isolated following the loss of his wife, Barry began rebuilding confidence and connection with the support of a volunteer, even starting to enjoy our Chatty Brew events. When he shared his lifelong wish to see an owl up close, that dream was made possible with help from his family and The Falconry Experience Isle of Wight, creating a very special day to remember.
