We aim to be your first port of call for services, information and assistance.

At our office you will be welcomed by one of our local Volunteers who can provide assistance and information or by one of our trained Insurance Arrangers who can provide quotes and assistance in the office.

At all of our offices we have access to a wide range of fact sheets on issues that affect older people, including benefits, care, housing and health.

Information can be provided or a referral can be made to the Charity’s services.

Age UK Lancashire Trading provides a face-to-face service to arrange general insurance or other products.

Services in and around Chorley

Chorley Lifestyle Centre
Working in partnership with The Brothers of Charity, our centre on Gillibrand Street in Chorley is open every week day to provide a service for people over 50. Refreshments including snacks and hot lunches are available and there are luncheon clubs, usually on the 2nd and last Friday of the month. Various activities are organised including exercise and art classes, help with basic computer use and day trips throughout the year.

Chorley Outreach
Our team provides support in many rural areas of Chorley as well as in Coppull and Clayton Brook. We work to identify what is needed in local neighbourhoods and look at ways of setting up services and activities to meet communities’ needs. Opportunities are available to enjoy a range of activities such as luncheon clubs, craft sessions, indoor bowling, arts, computer and exercise classes.

Promoting Independence
Our team of staff offer practical support in the home following discharge from a hospital ward
or Accident & Emergency Department. People must be aged 55 or above and find it difficult
to resume their activities of daily living.

Dementia Community Links
This service enables individuals in the Chorley area with early stage memory problems to maintain or re-develop daily living skills, have opportunities to be involved in educational, leisure or creative activities and be supported in maintaining or developing contacts in their local community. Trained staff provide an individualised home visiting service.

Foot Care Service
This is a partnership project between the NHS Podiatry Service and Age UK Lancashire, providing a nail clipping service carried out in the client’s own home and at various venues in the area. Advice is also provided on how to improve and maintain general foot hygiene. We provide a reassuring check to make sure there are no potential foot care problems.

Home Help Service
The Home Help Service is available to anyone who is aged 50 and over or living with a disability. Home Helps are able to carry out a variety of tasks dependent on your needs including general cleaning, laundry, shopping and local errands. The service offers flexibility and choice, high standards and is competitively priced.
