Bringing People Together at Aviva’s Marble Hall

Age UK Norfolk and Aviva recently hosted another wonderful Bringing People Together coffee morning at Aviva’s stunning Marble Hall in Norwich.
Around 40 people joined us for a cheerful morning of conversation, refreshments, and entertainment from the Aviva choir, with Age UK Norfolk service users, volunteers, staff, and Aviva volunteers all coming together to enjoy the event.
It was lovely to welcome both familiar and new faces, with some attendees returning to reconnect with people they had met previously, while others were attending for the very first time.

One particularly heartwarming moment came when an Aviva volunteer remembered a previous conversation with a service user and brought along his mum’s chocolate brownie recipe, as promised — a small act of kindness that meant a great deal.
The morning sparked lots of conversation and connection, with some attendees exchanging telephone numbers and making plans to stay in touch. One service user even shared that the event reminded them how important socialising is for them and they have since signed up to attend a luncheon group.
“I had a very enjoyable time. I enjoyed the company, the volunteers and people I met, the delicious nibbles, and the choir was the icing on the cake.”

A huge thank you to everyone at Aviva who helped make the event so welcoming and enjoyable. Moments like this show just how important connection, community, and kindness can be.
