Minibus Escort Volunteer
Aims and goals
We need caring, patient people to help our clients enjoy their time at our day centres in Northampton and Towcester by travelling on our minibuses with them.
We are sure that you will enjoy volunteering with us, and that you will always feel supported and safe.
All we ask is that you are:
- age 18 or over
- have empathy with older people
- patient and supportive
- able to remain calm and confident
- able to commit on a regular weekly basis for a minimum period of three months
Role description
We have morning and afternoon shifts available, Monday to Friday (Volunteers may choose one or multiple sessions per week). This role description in no way implies or states that a contract of employment is or will be offered. This is a voluntary unpaid role.
Working day
Shifts are weekdays 8.30am - 10.30am and 2.30 - 4.30pm. Volunteers can choose one or multiple sessions per week.
What your day could involve
- Ensuring all clients are welcomed and acknowledged.
- Accompanying our day centre clients on the minibus to and from their home to our day centre.
Some important points
- Additional training will be required
- This role is subject to Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
- You may be asked to perform other duties in line with the aims of this role, which are reasonably required at the time
Travelling on our minibuses gives our day centre clients the opportunity to chat with friends and can be something they look forward to.
