Veterans Recall is a Dementia-friendly club open to veterans and veterans' partners aged 50+ from any of the armed forces. This club offers clients the chance to share memories, stories and form connections with other people in their local community to combat social isolation. Clients are welcome to bring artefacts, pictures and memorabilia to discuss and share with other members of the group. Refreshments are also provided.

We are looking for volunteers to help us organise and run this monthly club. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working with people directly in the community, and for those who would like to help enhance the well-being of participants in a supportive environment.

A Veterans Recall volunteer will be asked to welcome clients, encourage social interaction and engage in meaningful conversation with clients, their friends and families.

Previous experience or knowledge within any of the Armed Forces would be helpful, as well as an ability to motivate and encourage people. Knowledge and experience gained through this opportunity may be transferable for those looking to develop a career in community support, coaching and care. Full training will be given including Dementia Training.

All volunteer roles for Clubs and Trips are subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
