As part of the process, we will first complete a free Benefits Check to establish whether you may be entitled to any means-tested benefits. If you are already receiving a means-tested benefit, or the Benefits Check shows that you are entitled to one, there will be no charge for our Attendance Allowance application service. If you are not receiving or entitled to any means-tested benefits, a charge will apply. This is a one off, success based fee, meaning you will only pay is your Attendance Allowance application is successful. Our Attendance Allowance completion service charges are £150 at the lower rate and £200 at the higher rate. This is a one off fee and only charged when an application has been successful. There are no ongoing or recurring charges.

How we can help
Applying for Attendance Allowance can be challenging. The application form is detailed and many people miss out on the financial support they are entitled to because the process can feel overwhelming.
Our experienced Information and Advice team can help you complete your application, ensuring all the relevant information is included. Over the past year, we have helped older people across Plymouth secure more than £1.94 million in Attendance Allowance and other benefits they were entitled to. We're proud to have helped many people successfully apply for Attendance Allowance, giving you the best possible chance of receiving the support you're entitled to.
The process
Our Attendance Allowance service begins with a free eligibility assessment carried out by one of our fully trained and experienced Benefits Caseworkers. During this appointment, we'll discuss your circumstances, explain the benefit and confirm whether you are likely to qualify before completing an application.
If you decide to use our form filling service, our fees are only payable if your claim is successful. The fee is £150 for a successful award at the lowest rate, currently worth £76.70 per week (£3,988.40 per year), or £200 for a successful award at the highest rate, currently worth £114.60 per week (£5,959.20 per year).
From your first phone call through to the outcome of your claim, our team provides personalised one to one support throughout the entire process. As well as helping you access Attendance Allowance, an award may also increase your entitlement to other benefits, meaning the value of our service can extend well beyond the Attendance Allowance payment itself.
How to access our service
Appointments are available Monday to Friday between 09:30 and 14:00, depending on availability. Please note that we are unable to offer drop in sessions for the application service. In person appointments can sometimes be arranged when a telephone appointment is not suitable.
