Age UK North Shropshire Supporters raised £560 to support local older people through a ‘Photos from Lockdown’ competition.
The judges were inundated with wonderful photographs from the 14 and under and 15 and over age groups.
Ruth Elner won the adult contest with a mysterious picture of the mere on a foggy day; Fiona Evans took a strong photograph of black and white cows; and Kathryn Goddard came third with an exquisite picture of a dragonfly.
Cameron Parry won the younger category with a cute picture of a spring lamb; Florence Sweeney took second place with a grand panorama taken from Rodney’s Pillar; and Sofie Glinos came third with an unusual photo of a newt on a rock.
Anne Wignall, President of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin, said: ‘We want to thank everyone who took the trouble to enter the photo competition and helped us raise so much money for older people. Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s services have never been more in demand as we have faced the pandemic together.’
‘We were really impressed by the photographs that were sent in; we would have liked them all to be winners! Well done to everyone.’
A selection of photos will be produced in Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin’s 2022 calendar, which will be on sale later in the year.
