Why volunteer?
Every day our volunteers make a real difference to the lives of older people across the whole of Shropshire. But did you know that volunteering also has a real, positive impact on the volunteers themselves?
Many of our volunteers say they are missing something in their own lives and are looking for a meaningful way to spend their spare time. They tell us that they get a lot of personal fulfilment from their role, that it’s very rewarding, doesn’t have to take up too much of their time and can also provide valuable work experience.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your local community, meet new people, share your knowledge, and learn new skills.
Who can volunteer?
Almost anyone over the age of 18 can be a volunteer. We have a wide range of roles which suit different people and different skills.
How much time do I need to give?
It depends on the volunteer role you are interested in, but just a few hours of your time every week can really make a difference to the lives of local older people.

-
Get your colleagues involved
Could you talk to your colleagues or your employer about how you can support us? We have lots of ideas for how organisations can get involved, including sponsoring an event, making us Charity of the Year, or donating equipment.
