Age UK Surrey's Splash of Colour

Age UK Surrey brought a splash of colour to Loseley Park for the charity’s inaugural Colour Run.
Families, friends and grandparents came together on Grandparents' Day for a joyful morning of running, walking and laughing, all in support of older people across Surrey.
On Sunday 4th October, the grounds of Loseley Park were filled with clouds of colour as 170 participants took part in the Age UK Surrey Colour Run.
Runners took on the 5km course, and walkers set off on the 2km route. Each group was met with bursts of colour at every station, and plenty of finishers crossed the line in a very different shade from the one they started in. With the event falling on Grandparents' Day, many families took on the challenge together, and several generations were pictured side by side at the finish.

Welcoming the runners back were Prior's Field School Choir, who performed for the crowd, and their singing set a cheerful tone for the morning. Afterwards, participants gathered in the event village, where music, stalls, food and drink kept the celebrations going, and there were plenty of chances for photos with friends and family.
"We were absolutely delighted with how our first ever Colour Run turned out. To see so many families, from grandchildren to grandparents, running, walking and laughing together in a vibrant splash of colour on such a beautiful October day was truly special. Every ticket and every donation will help Age UK Surrey continue to be there for older people across the county, through the services that so many rely on. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success." Catherine Hodgson, CEO, Age UK Surrey

Every ticket and donation helps Age UK Surrey continue its work supporting older people across the county through Information & Advice, specialist dementia services, befriending and hosting activities and events in Surrey. The total raised so far is £3,277
