“Sir David Attenborough is a powerful example of how later life can remain a period of inspiration, influence, and valuable contribution to society", said Catherine Hodgson, CEO of Age UK Surrey. The charity’s Age Better Together in Surrey Campaign encourages people of all ages to join challenge events and walks across the county to stay healthy, active, connected  - and enjoy the natural beauty of Surrey.

This special walk is part of Age UK Surrey's Go50 Walks Programme, which offers over 100 walks per year led by experienced volunteer Walk Leaders, all aged over 65+.  The walks range in length and difficulty over 40 different locations across Surrey and are regularly attended by over 300 walkers.

Tony Cummins, leader of the RSPB Guildford & District Local Group, says, “At the height of Spring we mark Sir David’s centenary with thoughts of the magnificent Surrey hills and heaths and their special birds Nightjars, Woodlarks and Dartford Warblers.” The RSPB will provide advice and insight into the birds and wildlife of the area to highlight David Attenborough’s support for birds throughout his career and the iconic role he played in promoting their conservation and welfare.

Come and breathe in the fresh air and walk with us to celebrate one of Britain's greatest nature champions. As in all our Go50 Walks, there is no need to book, just turn up - and walk!
