Age UK Brighton & Hove are working with the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group to represent the views and health needs of older people in the city.
We're gathering feedback about older people’s experiences of health services in the city and we want you to get involved.
The NHS wants to know what older people think about the services they have currently, how they could be improved and what should be developed.
Previous topics include early detection of cancer, healthy eating, health checks, urgent care and Accident & Emergency.
We have been partnering with the CCG for three years and have seen the way the research positively influences the provision of healthcare. Going forward we are keen to involve as many people as possible.
Your views make a difference
In the summer of 2016 we did some research on the topic of healthy eating and malnutrition. A key recommendation that came out of the feedback older people gave us was the need for more information on malnutrition and how to avoid it.
Our recommendation for an information booklet to be produced was endorsed by the Clinical Commissioning Group and in partnership with the Food Partnership the booklet was produced and launched in May 2017.
How to get involved
Are you aged over 70 and perhaps not as mobile as you once were, or do you know someone who is?
Would you be willing to answer some questions on a health related topic? (we do four surveys a year)
If you are willing to take part, someone from the Age UK team will arrange to visit you and ask you some questions on a particular topic, this will take about an hour. Everything you tell us will be anonymous.
Please contact us if you would like to be involved or if you have any questions.
