Dementia Action Week 2019

Published on 20 May 2019 11:11 AM

Monday 20th May marks the launch of Dementia Action Week. Senior Manager, Roisin Murphy is speaking at the launch of the week at Brighton General Hospital and the D-Mob peer support group is holding a workshop on dementia friendly premises.

There are approximately 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK and one in six people over the age of 80 have dementia.

Over the last three years, the Dementia Action Alliance, managed by Age UK Brighton & Hove has supported a range of community projects to help people living with dementia, from walking football to personalised zimmer frames. We've also been working with the local community, encouraging businesses and venues to become more dementia friendly.
