Have you considered the role that work, paid or unpaid, might play in your transition into later life and through retirement?

Retirement is no longer a fixed point when people simply stop working. Demographic change means that, despite the Covid-19 crisis, older people continue to make up a larger proportion of the workforce and they have skills that employers need. This can be a time of positive transition when you could:

  • Reduce your commitment in your present job
  • Change direction and try something new, full-time or part-time
  • Combine paid and voluntary work

Age UK West Sussex, Brighton and Hove have partnered with Work & Learning Opportunities c.i.c to provide an exciting new programme to allow you to look at all your options.

What will you get out of the programme?

We’ll support you to plan your next steps and provide practical help whether you want to learn new skills, apply for a job or strike out on your own as a sole trader or small enterprise.

You won’t have to travel outside the confines of your home. The programme will come to you and you will get one to one support over the phone and online. You’ll just need to commit to a few hours a week over 6 weeks. Support from the Lottery Community Fund means the programme is free and will begin in mid November
