60 years of Loving Later Life

2018 was a very special year for Age UK Horsham District

As the current charity team of staff and volunteers, representing a charity that has been working locally and supporting thousands of older people to love later life for 60 years, we celebrated our 60th Diamond Anniversary.

During the year we hosted six celebratory activities, eight events for older people across Horsham District, had a promotional activity every week of the year and our team of staff, volunteers, Trustees, clients and community groups have hosted or supported 20 fundraising events. Our grand finale to the year was an End of Diamond Year event and our fabulous Diamond Draw.

Diamond jubilee celebration

Our aim was to raise £60,000 from the local community to mark this special occasion and to date we have raised over £63,000, which is an incredible achievement. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us during our Diamond Year and helped us to smash our target!

Our ambition

What is important to note is that over the years, our ambition has always remained the same: we want Horsham District to be a district in which everyone can love later life.

Across Horsham District we want to:

  • Tackle loneliness and isolation
  • Be the first port of call for local older people
  • Work with older people to provide a solution centred around them

Support us

Our 60th Anniversary Year may be over, but the work we do continues. We rely on the support of local partners, members of the community and over 100 volunteers to continue providing our vital services for local older people. Find out more about our services.
