Age UK Horsham District is a local independent charity with 30 staff members and over 100 volunteers.

We help approximately 1,500 local older people every year, offering activities, events, befriending and information. It's a great place to work if you really want to make a difference in people's lives.

Activity assistant – Horsham and Storrington Clubs

We want to fill two posts in our small dynamic Dementia Clubs Team. You will be working with older people who have a diagnosis of dementia, enabling their carers to have respite.

Your role will include supporting members to enjoy a wide variety of activities and offer some personal care if required.

You will also help provide a hot two course lunch for members.

As part of the role we offer ongoing training opportunities as well as regular team meetings which you are expected to attend (these may occur on a different day to your normal hours).

If you have strong inter-personal skills, knowledge and experience of the needs of older people, and are willing to make a difference locally, we want to hear from you.

Hours: 7 per week 9 am to 4 pm (plus team meetings) at each location

Working pattern: Mondays and/or Fridays

Location: This role is based at Lavinia House Horsham (Mondays) and /or The Trinity Centre, Storrington (Fridays)

Salary: £13,195 per annum, for full-time working. Pro rata for part-time.

Home Helps, Handypersons and Gardeners needed

We would like to talk to you if you are interested in becoming part of our team of self-employed workers to help with the delivery of the Help at Home, Gardening or Handyperson services across the district.

We act as the contact point for customers and workers and allocate tasks according to the type of job, locality and customer requirements.

You would be responsible for carrying out the work and collecting your payment.
