The village agent will provide a local, trusted and well-known friendly face at the heart of the community.
They will make a positive impact by identifying isolated and vulnerable older people and helping them to gain access to services and information.

Activity Assistant

The Storrington Club – for those living with dementia

Hours:                           7 per week (plus team meetings)

Working pattern:         Tuesdays

Location:                     This role is based at The Trinity Centre, Storrington

Salary:                         £15,561 per annum (pro rata for part time)

At Age UK Horsham District, we want to be famous for:

We are now looking to recruit someone to join our small dynamic team. You will be working with older people who have a diagnosis of dementia, enabling their carers to have respite.

Your role will include supporting members to enjoy a wide variety of activities and offer some personal care if required. You will also be expected to help provide a hot two-course lunch for members.

As part of the role, we offer ongoing training opportunities as well as regular team meetings which you are expected to attend (these may occur on a different day to your normal hours).

If you have strong inter-personal skills, knowledge and experience of the needs of older people, and are willing to make a difference locally, we want to hear from you.

Home Helps, Handypersons and Gardeners needed

We would like to talk to you if you are interested in becoming part of our team of self-employed workers to help with the delivery of the Help at Home, Gardening or Handyperson services across the district.

We act as the contact point for customers and workers and allocate tasks according to the type of job, locality and customer requirements.

You would be responsible for carrying out the work and collecting your payment.

We are looking for a Trustee Treasurer with a combination of strategic, governance and operational experience and skills who is able to guide our Finance Manager, Chair the Finance Committee (a sub-committee of the Board of Trustees) and lead on financial strategy for the charity. The Treasurer has lead responsibility for financial reporting and for ensuring that the charity’s finances are well-managed & compliant.

We would particularly value talking to candidates who are a qualified, or part-qualified, accountant or have equivalent experience. Some familiarity with charity financial management would be useful, but not essential.

If you have strong inter-personal skills, understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working on financial strategy and compliance and are willing to make a difference locally, we want to hear from you.

This is voluntary position and out of pocket expenses will be paid.
