Age UK Horsham District relies on volunteers. Can you spare some time to help us out?
Be part of something special . . .
Volunteering is a great way to share your life skills and experience. You can make an invaluable contribution to your local community.
We welcome a diverse range of volunteers from all backgrounds, abilities and ages. If you have some spare time and would like to make a difference to older people in the community then Age UK Horsham District would love to hear from you! Many activities that we run would not be possible without the support of volunteers.
As well as the satisfaction of knowing you are giving something back it can provide you with a feel good factor, adding to life’s many achievements, and will really make a difference to those whose lives you enrich.
Please call 01403 260560 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in joining our wonderful volunteers.

Can I choose what I do? Yes, in discussion with you we do our best to match your interests and also to maximise the benefit you will get from volunteering. You might be surprised that you find you follow new avenues.
Do I need skills or qualifications? If you have a special skill set we would love to maximise that and hear from you, however most of our roles do not require qualifications and will be supported by any training you might need.
Will my expenses be reimbursed? Yes, all reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
How much time will I have to commit to? We value any time that you can offer but the minimum is usually 2 hours per week. The amount of time needed is different for each role, so this may influence what type of volunteering you do, and can be relatively flexible within core office hours Monday – Friday.
Will I get support? Volunteers are one of our most important assets and we believe that providing appropriate training and support is essential in making our volunteers feel valued. We want all volunteers to feel supported to do their work with us effectively and enjoyably to help us deliver quality services.
How to be part of something special? Often the first step is the hardest, why not join our team and discover skills and talents you didn’t know you had.
For the latest volunteer opportunities and an application form please get in touch.
Find Your Fit
You don't necessarily have to utilise existing skills, you could try something new! We are governed by a Board of Trustees all of whom are volunteers, and we are always looking to expand our volunteering services through marketing, IT, various crafts, speakers of interest, gardening and administration activities.
Lavinia House Club
Do you have a skill set to offer which may support an activity or class, from patchwork, to arts and crafts, talks of interest, to languages? Our kitchen team are always looking for extra help to assist with serving our home cooked lunches and teas.
You can help to fundraise for Age UK Horsham District in a variety of ways. Perhaps helping with our events or collections, helping the fundraising team with administrative tasks in the office or joining our Fundraising Steering Group to help shape the future of fundraising for the charity. Please download the Fundraising Volunteer Role Description for further details.

If you have some time to spare each week and would like to help us make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for many local people, we would like to hear from you. Volunteers will receive support and training in their role.
All volunteers must provide two references and some roles are subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks.
