These services provide a local, friendly face supporting those in rural communities with advice and practical help.

How can we help?

We can help you by ensuring you have the right information to meet your needs and by putting you in contact with organisations that provide services to help you live well.

We can provide high quality information and advice to the local community.

We can support people in later life by promoting health and independence within the local community.

Who is this service for?

Anybody over 50 or their carer(s).

What is available?

Somebody to talk to where you live. The Village Agent knows their neighbourhood and can also give you information about what Age UK Horsham District has to offer or signpost you to services that can help. Wherever you meet, you’ll be able to speak in confidence and they’ll draw on the best information and advice.

Our Rural Outreach worker is there to connect you with your community through social activities and events near to you. Our Village Agents and Rural Outreach Development Worker will also work with people to support existing and new activities in your village. It might be anything from a book club to a prescription delivery service.

Where and when?

In your home or neighbourhood, at a time that suits you. You might meet up with our Village Agents or Rural Outreach Worker at a weekly information drop-in, a coffee morning or a local event. Or it might be that a home visit is best – whatever works for you.
