Chorley Building Society Staff become Dementia Friends

The Age UK Lancashire dementia team visited staff at Chorley Building Society recently to deliver a Dementia Friends training course.  Taking place at the Societies Key House branch in Chorley, the training was designed to help staff recognise the signs and learn how to help people who may have memory issues or dementia, who visit their branches.

Delivered by the Age UK Lancashire Dementia Community Links teams, the training is interactive and practical.  Natasha Mellor from the charity said: “It was a fantastic session and so good to see many more Dementia Friends made”.

The Dementia Friends session was provided as part of the ongoing support that Chorley Building Society give to Age UK Lancashire as one of their Affinity Saving Account Partners.  Choosing to support Age UK Lancashire with an affinity savings account means the Society will make a donation at the end of each year.  Full details can be found out by visiting Chorley Building Society or going online to www.chorleybs.co.uk

The training was a huge success with the societies staff who were all proud to become dementia friends.
