Act Now, Age Better: Your Next Move in Norfolk

Published on 28 April 2026 07:19 PM

As part of the national Act Now, Age Better campaign, we’re continuing to highlight the many ways people in Norfolk can build movement into their everyday lives in ways that feel enjoyable, realistic, and achievable.

The campaign is encouraging people in mid-life (aged 50–65) to think about their “Next Move”—whether that’s trying something new, returning to an activity they once enjoyed, or simply finding small ways to move more.

Staying active isn’t just about fitness levels or competition. It’s also about confidence, connection, and finding activities that feel right for you.

Across the county, there are a growing number of welcoming, supportive opportunities to help people get started, here are a few examples to help you get started.

Dementia Friendly Golf

Dementia Friendly Golf sessions offer a relaxed and social way to enjoy gentle physical activity in a supportive environment. These sessions focus on participation, confidence, and enjoyment rather than competition.

Upcoming sessions include:

Support to Help You Take the First Step

For many people, the hardest part is not knowing where to begin. That’s where we can help.

At Age UK Norfolk, our teams work together to support people to become more active and connected in ways that suit their circumstances:

Many people we support are simply looking to rebuild confidence in their local area. In fact, 65% of the Travelling Companionship journeys we support are focused on helping people feel able to walk locally again.

Find Your Next Move

Your “next move” doesn’t have to be big. It might be trying a class, joining a local group, or simply getting outside more often than you do now. What matters most is finding something that feels enjoyable, welcoming, and achievable.
