About the role

All our shops play a vital role in raising funds that support our work throughout the county.  Every penny helps to improve later life for people in Northamptonshire.  We need to recruit a reliable, trustworthy person with an awareness of the charity retail sector to provide short or long-term Manager cover for our shops in Northamptonshire. The place of work will be flexible depending on the need for cover.

You will be the person responsible for achieving effective, efficient and profitable day to day operation, management and control of an Age UK Northamptonshire shop, by maintaining and growing the quality of goods, services and professionalism.  You will supervise the Deputy Manager and all volunteers, maintain staffing and holiday rotas to ensure that adequate cover is provided at all times.

Our Shop Managers motivate and support their team, always ensuring we provide the highest standard of customer service and a great customer experience.  We value every donor and work to ensure they and their donations are treated with respect and with gratitude.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a good standard of education and is computer literate.  Experience of working in retail is desirable and a strong understanding of, and enthusiasm for, high street retail and fashion is essential.   As Cover Manager you will need to have exceptional organisational and time management skills.  Bring your passion for providing good customer service and enjoy working with our friendly teams, knowing that you are helping to make a difference to older people in our community.  This is an exciting opportunity to help Age UK Northamptonshire maximise sales and profit, enabling the charity to support 18,000 older people and their families every year.
