As of 17 March 2020 we have suspended all our services due to the COVID-19 virus. This also means that we have put a temporary hold on the recruitment of new volunteers.

We hope for this to be up and running again soon. If you have any queries please email volunteering@ageuknorwich.org.uk

We are looking at how we can best support those using our services, and our existing network of befriending volunteers will be staying in regular telephone contact with the person they are currently befriending.

If you do want to support an older neighbour who is self-isolating or is concerned about leaving the house because of COVID-19, we would encourage you to download this postcard from Norfolk County Council to tell them that you're available and to make sure you:

  • Stay in touch over the phone
  • Encourage them to stay active

  • See if they need any help with shopping or getting medication
  • Check to see if a local neighbourhood group has been set-up to support those self-isolating in your area

Our professional staff remain available to offer advice and information at the end of a phone. If you have a concern about an older person's welfare in the Norwich area such as lack of supplies and/or medication that you are unable to help with, do call us as soon as possible on 01603 496333.
