William Venton Day Centre
8 Memory Lane
Plymouth
PL9 9GH
United Kingdom

For those with memory loss or dementia we provide a specialist day care service providing meaningful, varied and personalised activities.

We provide care for people with memory loss, cognitive issues and all stages of dementia.

Our Dementia Day Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00.

We also provide a flexible option for either a full day or a shorter three hour session. We understand that coming somewhere new can take a bit of getting used to, so we are pleased to offer free taster sessions. This gives people the opportunity to meet the team, take a look around and become familiar with our setting at their own pace.

• Full day: £69.00

• Three hour session: £38.50

We aim to keep our services as accessible as possible. Local Authority funded places may be available following an assessment. We also accept Direct Payments.

If you are unsure about funding, our team is happy to talk through the options.

About our Dementia Day Centre

We support people at all stages of dementia and aim to make each visit feel relaxed, engaging and suited to the individual. Our experienced staff get to know each guest, adapting support and activities in a way that feels natural and reassuring.

There is a gentle structure to each day, with a range of activities available for those who would like to take part. There is no pressure to join in with everything and guests are free to spend their time in a way that feels right for them.

Activities may include:

• Arts and crafts, puzzles and quizzes

• Music, singing and light movement

• Baking and simple kitchen activities

• Sensory sessions, including use of our sensory room

• Visits from musicians and local groups

• Seasonal events and small celebrations

Alongside activities, there is always time to sit, chat and enjoy the company of others. Refreshments are available throughout the day and guests can enjoy a freshly prepared two course meal together, made by our catering team.

Support for guests and carers

The centre is designed to support both guests and their carers. Many families find it helpful to have regular time during the week, knowing their loved one is in a safe and understanding environment.

For guests, it can offer a sense of routine and opportunities to stay engaged in a way that suits them. For carers, it can provide reassurance as well as some well needed time to focus on other things.

Funding for services
