This Christmas we’re recycling

We're delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with Just Helping for Christmas 2026, bringing their successful Christmas tree recycling scheme to parts of Shropshire in support of Age UK Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.
After the festive season, residents who sign up for the scheme will be able to have their real Christmas trees collected from their homes, businesses or place of work in return for a donation. Teams of volunteers will collect the trees using vans and trailers before transporting them to designated sites, where they will be professionally wood chipped and recycled. It's a fantastic way to help the environment while raising vital funds to support older people across our county.
We will be operating the Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme in the following post codes: TF1, TF2, TF3, TF4, TF5, TF6, TF7, TF8, TF9, TF10, TF11, SY1, SY2, SY3, SY4.
This exciting new venture is about much more than recycling! It’s a brilliant opportunity for us to engage with our local communities, welcome new volunteers and generate much-needed income to help us continue providing essential services that enable older people to live well, independently and with dignity.
To make the scheme a success, we'll need plenty of volunteers, as well as people with access to vans or trailers who can help transport the trees on collection days.
