Age UK Wakefield District has a
- Staff team of 70 who deliver and support services to older people
- Volunteer team of 120+, in more than 200 volunteering roles, who work closely with staff to ensure that all services are effective, professional and friendly
- Board of Trustees who work closely with senior staff to offer support, expertise and guidance in the strategic and business planning of the organisation
- Membership who ensure that Age UK Wakefield District is promoted and supported throughout the District through their ongoing interest and affiliation
Age UK Wakefield District is accredited as a Living Wage Employer
Age UK Wakefield District is proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer. Having become a Living Wage employer in 2016, we are pleased to announce that we will be increasing our hourly rate of pay in line with the Living Wage Foundation’s newly recommended rate by 1 May 2017. The new rate, as announced by the Living Wage Foundation on 31 October 2016, will apply to all our staff over 18 and will be paying at least £8.45 per hour.
Age UKWD has recently become a Mindful Employer -
and has signed up to the Mindful Employer Charter. The Charter for Employers who are Positive about Mental Health is a voluntary agreement seeking to support employers in working within the spirit of its positive approach. The Charter is one element of the MINDFUL EMPLOYER® initiative which is aimed at increasing awareness of mental health in the workplace and supporting businesses in recruiting and retaining staff. A wide range of employers from all over the UK are involved in the initiative which gives businesses and organisations easier access to information, practical support, training, networks and assistance from other employers.
