Be a Home Hero! Take on the 2.6 Challenge for us!

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events. At Age UK West Sussex we depend on this income to support older people.
In response to this crisis, the UK’s mass participation sports event industry has come together to create the 2.6 Challenge, a nationwide fundraising campaign to Save the UK’s Charities. The idea is for people to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to their chosen charity to help Save the UK’s Charities on Sunday 26 April - when the 40th London Marathon would have been held. It would be incredible to have your support.
How can I get involved?
The 2.6 Challenge can be any activity you like – from running 2.6 miles to holding an online workout with 26 of your friends. There are some great ideas here - https://www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk/inspiration.html
Whatever your age or ability, you can take part. After all, we’re not looking for superheroes. We’re looking for Home Heroes.
Choose your #TwoPointSixChallenge, set up your fundraising page here - https://twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/fundraise, tell everyone what you are doing so they can sponsor you, then complete your challenge.
If you can't take part in the challenge, don’t worry, you can still donate to help us at this critical time – https://www.justgiving.com/ageukwestsussex
You can do it at home
The #TwoPointSixChallenge is your chance to be a Home Hero and raise funds from your very own living room, bedroom, balcony or garden!
The only rule is that you must follow Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time. The main thing is to get active, have fun and pledge whatever you can to help save the UK’s charities.
Whether you're running around the balcony for 2.6 miles, doing 26 press-ups with the dog on your back or bench-pressing 26 kilos with your grandchildren, we want your help.
Then share pictures or videos of your challenge on social media using the official hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge to be part of the campaign and help to inspire the nation to get involved.
Thank you for your support!
