We have a group turnover of approximately £2.5million with a large percentage coming from local government funding and a staff of around 100.


We are a lively and innovative charity providing a wide range of services and support to older people throughout the county which include our Daybreak Services - respite for Dementia Carers, Activity & Social Centres along with our Community Based Clubs, Home from Hospital, Information & Advice and Help at Home. Information and Advice Telephone/Outreach Advisor

16 hours per week. Salary £20,933 pro rata, (Actual £9,052 ) based in Crawley

We deliver an information and advice service to people aged 50 and over, as well as their families and carers, on a wide range of issues. We operate an Advice Quality Standard (AQS) marked telephone advice line, face to face advice at outreach locations throughout West Sussex and home visits for less mobile clients.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team with proven communication and people skills, knowledge and experience of delivering advice. You will be required to provide county wide information and advice for older people by answering enquiries from the public over the telephone, in person and via email or other written means.

The Information and Advice service provides advice on a broad range of topics including, financial, benefits, debt, housing, employment, consumer, care, community support, funding care, education and leisure activities.

This post requires a full driving licence and use of a car.

Activities Coordinator, Crawley Centre


24 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday and Friday 9am – 3.30pm
Salary £12, 043 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and organised individual to assist the manager in running our centre in Crawley. If you have experience of developing activities and services, you are good at administration including health and safety and genuinely enjoy working with people, we would love to hear from you. Chef, Adur Community Clubs 

10 hours a week, 2 days a week; Tuesday in Shoreham and Thursday in Sompting. 9.30am – 2.30pm 
£9.20 per hour
About the role:

One of your key responsibilities will be preparing home made, quality meals. You will get to know our members so will respond to any special dietary requirements or preferences, promoting choice, dignity and respect.
Managing the kitchen supplies, you will also be responsible for checking and maintaining kitchen equipment
You will complete all necessary paperwork such as COSHH, HACPP, whilst adhering to company policies and procedures 
Support the Community Activities Manager in training and supporting kitchen volunteers
Occasionally you will help cater for ad hoc special events that take place over the weekend or in the evening
Needs to be a car driver.

Home Helpers required

We are looking for SELF EMPLOYED HOME HELPS in the WEST SUSSEX, BRIGHTON and HOVE areas to help with household tasks, cleaning, shopping and provide social support to assist older people to remain independent in their own homes.

Working between Monday and Friday, the hours are flexible and according to your availability.  Rates of pay are between £10 and £14 per hour depending on the area.

Car drivers preferred but not essential.

All applicants will have a DBS check through Age UK West Sussex and must have their own Liability Insurance.  Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Gardeners / Handypeople required

We are looking for SELF EMPLOYED GARDENERS / HANDYPEOPLE in WEST SUSSEX to help with gardening and odd jobs to assist older people to remain independent in their own homes.

Working between Monday and Friday, the hours are flexible and according to your availability.  Rate of pay is £15 per hour for both gardeners and handypeople.

You will need to have all your own tools and equipment.  You must have Liability Insurance.
