Bring people together and help grow support for older people across our local communities

We’re looking for a warm, organised and proactive Community and Events Fundraising Officer to help grow community, corporate and events fundraising across Brighton, Hove and West Sussex. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, spotting opportunities, building local partnerships and inspiring others to support a charity that makes a real difference to older people’s lives.

Although you’ll be based from our Brighton office for part of the week, this part-time hybrid fundraising role will support activity across Brighton & Hove and the wider West Sussex area, helping us build relationships with supporters, businesses and local communities.

You’ll work closely with our Fundraising Manager to coordinate and deliver engaging fundraising activities, from supporting individual fundraisers and third-party events to developing relationships with local businesses, community groups and supporters. You’ll also help us tell our story, raise awareness of our work and create a positive supporter experience that encourages people to stay connected with us long term.

This role would suit someone with experience in fundraising, events, community engagement, supporter care, partnerships or another people-focused role - but more importantly, we’re looking for someone who can take initiative, follow through on ideas and deliver activities that helps grow income and support for our charity. You’ll need to be confident talking to people, comfortable building strong relationships and motivated by making a difference.

If you don’t have direct experience in this type of role, but feel you have the right skills, energy and confidence to make things happen, we’d still love to hear from you. Please do apply, or get in touch for a chat if you’d like to find out more.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting, encouraging and stewarding fundraisers, supporters and local groups.
  • Helping to grow community fundraising, corporate fundraising and events activity.
  • Building positive relationships with local businesses, community organisations, suppliers and supporters.
  • Researching and developing new fundraising ideas, opportunities and income generation initiatives.
  • Working with colleagues to raise awareness of fundraising campaigns and activities.
  • Using our fundraising database to keep accurate supporter records and monitor activity.
  • Helping us report on progress, income, supporter engagement and impact.
  • This role involves regular travel across Brighton, Hove and West Sussex, so you’ll need to be able to travel independently when required; access to a car would be preferable.
