Age UK Bristol, as lead partner for the University of Birmingham-led Vivensa Foundation study across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board area, officially launched the REACT (Retirement in Action) Implementation Programme at The Watershed on Tuesday 12 May.
This launch marked a major milestone in a journey spanning more than 16 years, beginning with AVONetwork co-production activities back in 2010.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us – especially our REACT participants, instructors, and community providers. You are the best ambassadors for this work. We were also delighted to welcome Oliver Soutar from the Vivensa Foundation, whose support is helping us scale REACT and reach more communities.
From Bristol, Bath, Birmingham and Devon, to Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, West North London, Guernsey, and now through partnerships with six football clubs – Bolton Wanderers, Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, QPR, Stevenage and Wigan – REACT continues to grow, enabling more people to benefit from this evidence-based programme.
What makes this possible is our incredible and passionate team. Everyone involved in the launch represents a shared commitment to improving health, mobility and independence for older people. Together, we are building a network of advocates driving meaningful and lasting change.
