Christmas Support with Age UK County Durham

Published on 04 December 2020 02:49 PM

For most people, Christmas this year is going to be very different to previous years.

Many people who are older and vulnerable living in County Durham may not be able to be with their families because of the Covid-19 crisis or they may not have any family to visit them.

At Age UK County Durham, we are doing our best to help them over the festive period.  With our team of fantastic volunteers, we are identifying ways to continue helping older people with shopping needs and we have been very fortunate to be offered the chance to identify individuals to receive a Christmas Dinner.

We have teamed up with St Johns Hall and John Street Deli to supply a Christmas meal to those who may be on their own this Christmas and live in Meadowfield, Langley Moor and Brandon areas.

We have also been lucky to be approached by Shildon Town Council and Shildon Civic Hall who are able to provide a 3-course meal for residents in the Shildon area who are socially isolated.

We are working hard to make sure our clients who are lonely this Christmas have a lovely hot meal to eat.

If you know anyone living in these areas who will be alone this Christmas and we will contact them to see if they would like to receive a Christmas meal.
