Celebrating Volunteer Week 2025

Published on 02 June 2025 08:40 AM

Today is the first day of Volunteers Week 2025, it is an annual UK wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers and how they enrich our communities.

Volunteers make a difference everyday by sharing with us that most precious commodity – time. When you volunteer you make a commitment to making somebody’s life a little bit better. Volunteers are the champions of their communities.

During Volunteers Week 2025 we are sharing daily Facebook posts about some of our wonderful volunteers.

Go to https://www.facebook.com/Ageukcountydurham/ to find out more from Jo, Liz, Kendall, John, Sharon, Lesley, Brian and Bob.

All our volunteers are valued and appreciated; their support is an integral part of our organisation, delivering our services and staffing our retail outlets. Without our volunteer community we could not achieve the outcomes for our service users across the County, and we are profoundly grateful for their dedication and time. With more volunteers we deliver more and support more of those in need and we are always seeking to recruit volunteers to join our team.
