Wrinkles and Smiles: A Celebration of Age
Age UK Milton Keynes is thrilled to announce "Wrinkles and Smiles: A Celebration of Age," a unique art exhibition showcasing the creativity of local school students. The exhibition will be held at Middleton Hall Centre, Milton Keynes, from October 6th to 9th, 2025.
This exciting project invites primary and secondary schools across Milton Keynes to participate by encouraging their students to create artwork that explores and celebrates the theme of aging. "Wrinkles and Smiles" aims to foster intergenerational understanding and appreciation, while also providing a platform for young artists to display their talent.
Students are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own style, capturing the wisdom, joy, and stories of older adults through various artistic mediums. Two winning entries from each participating school will be selected to advance to the final judging round.
The final exhibition at Middleton Hall Centre will feature the shortlisted artworks, where a panel of judges will select the primary school winner, secondary school winner, and an overall winner. These winning pieces will then be displayed at the prestigious MK Gallery, providing invaluable exposure for the young artists.
"We believe this exhibition will not only showcase the incredible artistic talent of our students but also promote a deeper understanding and respect for older generations," said Simon Tuck, Event and Community Fundraiser at Age UK Milton Keynes. "We are excited to see the diverse interpretations of 'Wrinkles and Smiles' and to celebrate the creativity of our community."
